She was the only child of a very young daughter of a poor blacksmith and a 45 years old guy just back from the tsar army (the service term was 25 years, and the young men were random chosen for it). Minna worked as a house maid in Russia, then went back to Latvia where she got married to an accountant Ekab, and went with him everywhere, even to "Red" Ukraine in the end of 20es - to build communism my great-grandfather believed in. Minna had a chance to visit her motherland almost 30 years later. Her husband didn't have that chance...
